A small, but noisy group - banging on pots and pans - demonstrated outside of the Washington, DC home of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.
Demonstrators on Saturday held signs that read ‘Deliver de Mail. Depose DeJoy.’ and ‘save USPS.'
The protest comes amid growing concerns that DeJoy is gutting the U.S. Postal Service - by pushing through cost-cutting measures like overtime curbs - to help President Donald Trump win the election.
An unprecedented number of mail-in ballots are expected this year, and according to USPS, there is significant risk of late ballots.
DeJoy - a wealthy Republican donor - has argued that his changes are needed to return the Post Office to profitability.
And Trump, speaking on Saturday from his New Jersey golf club, defended the Postmaster General:
"He wants to make the Post Office great again. The Post Office is a catastrophe."
Trump tried to put some distance between himself and the escalating problems with USPS.
"...I didn't speak to him about it."
The Postal Service's internal watchdog is investigating the cost cutting that has slowed delivery and alarmed lawmakers ahead of the election - when up to half of U.S. voters could cast ballots by mail, a congressional aide said on Friday.
