I was getting ready to wrap my pipes temporarily (or however long this cold spell lasts). So, any spigots external to the house and not under the house I have decided to wrap with foam left over from a costume of a Frappuchino from Starbucks my daughter made for Halloween. What was surprising to me was that she was one of three people including one teacher at her private school who had starbucks related costumes. Anyway, while searching for the parts I could wrap with 3/4 inch thick foam in sheets with duct tape temporarily or however long this cold snap lasts to prevent pipes from breaking from ice in them I saw these toad stools which I hadn't seen before where I had taken out a huge section of ferns that had been growing here last year because it was causing the sideboards to rot at the side of the house and the toadstools seemed to like this place because it doesn't get any direct sun most of the year.
The tall one was at least 10 inches tall when I measured it with a flexible building rule so it is quite impressive. If it was in the back yard I would have taken it out right away so my dogs didn't try to eat it and get poisoned or something. But, it is fine where it is where they can't get at it near the porch in the front yard.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
