This is something I have been learning about the past couple of months from my dentist and dental hygienist. Another helpful thing is to use a Waterpik to get particles out from between your teeth and from forming pockets in your gums between your teeth. Very small infections can form when little particles of food get lodged between your teeth that you aren't aware of. Though flossing can help usually getting your teeth cleaned regularly and getting a water pik you use once a day in addition to brushing your teeth is helpful in preventing heart attacks, heart problems and strokes because it lessens the small infections that might get into your blood through small infections (too small for you to see or even to notice most of the time) in between your teeth and in little pockets in between your teeth in your gums. This, it turns out is a major factor in longevity since this was discovered by healthcare professionals around the world.
