We are moving into a whole new world lately. I'm not sure if you read as much about this as I do so I really feel it coming from all the psychological and technical enhancements the human race is now exposed to on a daily, by the minute and by the second kind of timetable now.
Today, I was watching CNN and they had a young woman on who was chosen from a group of 1000 or more people for a one way ticket to Mars to start the first colony there within the next 2 years. Will it be successful? Will people survive the journey? It is unknown. However, in the 1500s and 1600s it was unknown whether people would survive even the crossing to the New World (The Americas) then. Columbus almost had a mutiny of the sailors then just trying to get to the Caribean Ocean and the islands there. I think we are now at the same stage as Columbus and colonists in regard to Mars. I think our ancestors once lived on Mars and Earth was our refuge when we messed up Mars to much to live on. But now, we might terraform Mars like we have settled Antarctica with scientists. Something more like that. Who knows what we will find (about Mars?) (about ourselves?) (about everything). But, it might be rough watching people die quickly or slowly at first who are the true explorers. Hopefully, future people will remember the names of those who succeed and those who die trying.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
