Bank of America: "45% of world GDP at risk because of coming water crisis"
Analysts at Bank of America Merrill Lynch think it’s going to get a lot worse.
"We view the unprecedented drought in California as a harbinger of the coming global water crisis," BAML strategists wrote in a note to clients on Tuesday.
"By 2050E, 45% of projected GDP is at risk, with as many as 50 countries at risk of conflict over water."

Most of the countries that will likely come to blows over water rights will be some of the poorest countries on earth as well. Richer countries will likely convert Sea water through desalination, filter existing water and even recycle waste water for use on yards and golf courses and possibly even for growing food if it is filtered enough.
I can envision a time when people captured their own rain off their roofs whenever it rained into storage containers and then recycled their water through filtration or other means and maybe only losing 25% of their total water per year to evaporation and urination away from home.
