There is no solution at present to what is happening to the Middle East (or regarding Putin for example). The sectarian war between Sunnis and Shiites could drag on for decades or even for centuries given present injustices not being addressed in any way.
So, the best the U.S. can do at present is: "Don't incite the wrath of 1.2 Billion Sunni Muslims worldwide.
Iran has pissed of the 1.2 billion Sunnis, Russia has really pissed off the 1.2 billion Sunnis and Assad (more than anyone) has pissed off the 1.2 billion Sunnis.
So, vendettas will keep going for decades or centuries already because of what has already happened.
So, the world has to hope that there will be someone like a Ghandi, a Mandela or a Martin Luther King or someone like that for Middle Easterners to believe in.
Because without that no one is going to be able safely to raise children there very soon at all. The food and water will stop being safe to eat or drink from all the military ordinance going off and polluting everything.
We may now be witnessing the end of the Middle East during the rest of this century as a place people can safely live and get married and raise children.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
