Over a lot of the world it is becoming more dangerous than before. However, it is simultaneously true that you can go to places like South Korea or Japan and you will generally be much much safer than here in the U.S. But then you also might be killed by a truck on the street that went through a traffic light there or squished between two trucks in a car because they were driving too fast. So, as far as personal violence goes you might be much much safer than here in the U.S. but in regard to surviving in traffic it might be much worse than here because for example, in South Korea there are no traffic cops only speeding tickets that automatically arrive in the mail after you are notified by your GPS on your dashboard when you go to fast for too long.
But, there is a tendency of human beings to not value a human life as much as when I grew up worldwide and South Korea's safety and Japan's safety is an exception rather than a rule.
Why is this?
I'm thinking that it is because there are many more than 3 times the number of people on earth than when I grew up. When I grew up there were only about 2 billion people over the whole earth and now there are 7 1/2 and likely to be 8 billion people within about 5 to 10 years from now.
However, that isn't sustainable and nothing above about 1 billion people is actually sustainable long term on earth(long term meaning 1000 years or more). So, sometime in the next 100 to 1000 years earth's population is likely to reduce down to that once again.
Unless we all decided to live underground and leave the surface area of the earth for farming and recreation completely.
So, in the next 50 years we likely will witness all the large animals of earth of lion, bear or bigger like elephants completely gone from the wild except in Wild animal parks where people pay to visit where guards can be hired to protect them from poachers more.
But, if the largest animals are dying out so fast, how soon will mankind go extinct? Because we are the penultamate predator on the planet and always have been. What happens when all the big wild animals have no wild places to be anymore?
And what happens to humans when they have no wilderness to retreat to to stay sane?
Without any wilderness at all humans tend to get drunk, take drugs and go insane.
Whereas I find just being in a forest with trees and birds and wild animals just fine for at least an hour every day just my dogs and me by ourselves while we hike together and commune with nature. Or we walk by the beach while the breakers roar and sometimes my bigger dog jumps in and swims while chasing tennis balls in the surf.
But, what about all the people whose environment is a mess and can't do that.
How do they stay sane and non-violent?
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
