Palm Springs

My wife wanted to go to Palm Springs but I was a little worried to go while still sort of jet lagged. However, fortunately or unfortunately (depending upon your point of view) the night before we were to drive down there I forgot to take my night time Heart medicine which basically makes me sleep and not want to wake up ever. So, suddenly I was on the correct time and not jet lagged anymore. that night I woke up from 5 to 6 am and went back to sleep and then we left the Bay area about noon and my internal clock had been reset. Great!

So, we drove south to Palm Springs to meet one of our God Daughters who works with her Husband in L.A. She drove out for Sunday but had to go back for a meeting Monday morning after spending Sunday after noon and evening with us.

The place we are saying is sort of like a Disneyland or something like that with waterfalls when you arrive (in the desert in a drought?) and golf courses and little lakes and ponds with ducks and dragonflies and such. So, there is a lot of life here (and a lot of people mostly over 40 or 50). I think it's some sort of Time Share or something. However, unless this was on Maui (and even then I'm not sure I would want a time share) because if you are only going to be somewhere for 2 weeks a year it usually isn't worthwhile to do a time share.

This place has a view of Mt. San Gorgonio and Mt. San Jacinto and the air has been clear yesterday and today (Monday Morning). I went out on our large veranda and watched the ducks and the wind move over the water and the sun on Mt. San Jacinto over Palm Springs.

My father and I built a retirement house for my Dad and Mom to retire into in 1980. We started work on the house on weekends starting in 1968 when my Dad first bought the 2 1/2 acres and then I worked weekends on on sometimes and Dad basically worked on it almost every weekend from 1968 until 1980 when he retired to Yucca Mesa above Yucca Valley. I mostly liked to ride dirt bikes and Dualsports throughout the area which was great fun during that time from about 1968 to 1985 when he passed on.

Also, my son went to an Extension of CSUSB here in the Palm Springs area until he moved nearer to San Bernadino to Finish his bachelor's of Science Degree. However, now he is married and I have a grandson 15 months old and lives out of state.

So, I have a lot of history now visiting here too even in 120 degrees Fahrenheit or more. I liked to go to movies with my son at a Mall called The River. It was pretty amazing on Saturday nights with all the teenagers who went there at midnight when it might be 100 degrees sometimes at midnight.
