Syria, Iraq, Pakistan,
Somalia, Libya, Afghanistan and Yemen.
However, it might be useful to say that some Americans are fighting in all of them, just not regular Army or regular Marines and instead Seal Units and other Delta Force Black ops teams and drones with Hellfire missiles raining down and with Hercules C 130s like rained down fire on a hospital in Aghanistan by accident the other day. Generals said this sort of thing happens in the "fog of war" especially during night time at 2 am when the hospital and 22 people died and were blown apart from ordinance from the C 130 Hercules.
So, formally the Army, Navy, marines, Coast Guard and Air Force are not formally at war except against ISIS and the Taliban in Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan. And usually these are special forces alongside robotic drones with missiles doing their job there and also Coalition fighter jets from individual nations and the U.S. and Nato going against ISIS.
And to this mix add Russian fighter Jets and bombers blowing up just those who oppose Assad for now (but not ISIS) and pissing off Coalition members like the U.S., NATO, Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia etc.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
