12% of normal ice on Great Lakes in 2016

This is causing problems. The water is running 32 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit and the air has been lately zero to 15 degrees Fahrenheit. This is causing an incredible amount of lake effect snow coming down down wind of the lakes. It is also causing water spouts a lot too. The problem of no ice or almost no ice on the Great Lakes also makes sense in the context of the North Pole melting out last December 2015.

This information came from CNN news at 1:11 am Pacific time.
