I don't think comparing the U.S. to the Fall of Rome is helpful at all

What people in the U.S. need to do is to adapt to the realities on the ground rather than to fantasize (like Trump is) of the world from the 1950s to the 1970s that he and I grew up in.

What is wrong with the U.S. put simply?

1. globalization: Globalization took away our monopoly of great natural resourses because it allowed all countries on earth to compete with our businesses on a level playing field. This created 63,000 factories to go bankrupt or move out of the country from 2001 until now.

2. The Republicans are angry that they haven't had the votes to elect a Republican President since 1988. It's still true by the way even more than in 2000 when Gore was elected by the popular vote.

3. Because of the anger of Republicans nothing useful gets passed by the Congress so the American people are left flying in the wind blown by the currents of the whole world at random.

4. Because of this people are really angry in a way I haven't seen since the Viet Nam war. In fact, maybe the average person is even more angry than then.

5. What is the solution?

Answer. We have to get real and stop fantasizing about a world that is gone now. Otherwise we risk ending our Democracy in a Republic with a Dictator.

6. Who looks ripe for Dictator?

7. Cruz and Trump are likely dictators if they ever got into office actually. They both might even outdo Hitler if either of them ever got into office.
