Details: Moody Blues
One year ago in April 2015 I went to see the Moody Blues for the first time since 1974 with my first wife in San Diego. They likely are my single favorite band of all time. I even learned to soul travel successfully to their song OM from the "IN Search of the Lost Chord" album.
Last year during the end of March 2015 my appendix burst while I was visiting Mt. Shasta. Then I went to the hospital in Mt. Shasta but because I had a very strong immune system I had no diagnostic symptoms for a Burst appendix because I had no fever or elevated white cell count. So, I suffered for the first week thinking I was dying and abandoned by the local doctors. I sort of resigned myself to dying that week. Finally, I asked for a sonogram of my intestines and they offered a CT Scan. 1 week after I went to see them and they put me on Morphine and oxygen the previous Friday night and then released me with the diagnoses: Gastritis. I felt pretty abandoned that Saturday morning and couldn't defecate or eat until sometime Monday. All I could keep down was water because I could still urinate. So, by Monday I was pretty exhausted from trying to stay alive in a hotel room by myself. My wife arrived on Wednesday and things got a little better after that. When I had a CT Scan they scheduled me immediately for emergency Surgery for a burst appendix which was a laproscopic procedure(they put little robotic devices into you through several holes they drill into your abdomen but you wind up with no cutting scars only things that sort of look like moles the size of the tip of your little finger on your belly in several places.
By late April I was starting to physically recover but was still dealing with PTSD from the experience so I rented a 2015 Camaro, invited my wife and her friend and daughter to visit Portland and asked my younger and older daughter and one of their boyfriend's to join us for the April 24th Moody Blues concert in Portland. It was wonderful to celebrate still being alive after almost dying the previous month with family and friends and my rented red convertible 2015 Camaro which is the most powerful thing I have driven in some time. Legally, the fastest I could take it was zero to 60 in a couple of seconds getting onto freeways, but it was really fun when it was warm enough to let the convertible top down the week I rented this car the week of my birthday in Portland then.
