There would be no "Executive privilege" because he has not been sworn into office yet. So, everything anyone did or said or emailed during this time would be subject to FBI review.
This appears to be the basis of all of this. So, any collusion with Russia might be obvious by these emails. Any profiteering from doing anything for Russia by anyone on the Trump transition team likely could be seen by these emails.
Any money laundering among those close to Trump in the transition team regarding money paid by Russian Oligarchs to them to prevent sanctions against Russia applied by the Obama administration would basically be an act of treason subject to prison time or even execution.
