Why?
Because of the wars between Muslims and Christians and other religions less and less young people are buying into the whole concept of religion at all. Some of you who are churchgoers might be distressed about all this.
But, here is what appears to be happening. Young people going to secular private schools, public schools and public colleges are tending to go one of two ways mostly in life.
1. They are spiritual but not religious.
2. They are either agnostic or atheistic
This appears to be the way things are going at ALL secular schools now in the U.S. and I think this can only accelerate because of terrorist bombings by Muslims or even Christians around the world.
In the past people had no alternative to religion if they wanted to stay alive here on earth but this is no longer true in places like Europe and the U.S.
What made this possible is public secular educations from the public school and private schools throughout Europe and the U.S. and likely I believe this will accelerate with time.
Is this good or bad?
I think you can only usefully see this as both good and bad for a variety of reasons.
However, to be aware that it is happening might be the most important thing of all to be aware of worldwide.
