However, I have no herbal medications I can recommend because I personally have never had to take ADD of any kind. So, obviously I can't recommend things because of this. But, my experience is you are more likely to find something that helps without negative side effects with herbals than sythetics for a variety of reasons. But, before you embark on a program for your child be sure to look up the potential side effects of anything you are going to try. Forewarned is forearmed.
Three of the potential positive ones for you would be coffee, ginko biloba and ginseng However, initially I wouldn't combine these three together because I don't know what that would do to individuals.Everyone is different in this. But, when I was a counselor for emotionally disturbed teenagers, one of the boys we could give coffee to and then counselors would sit with him as he crashed through the ceiling into a new state of consciousness and then he would calm down and be okay and be clear in his thoughts. But, he was a unique case. But, I have used both ginko biloba and ginseng at various times during my life for mental clarity which was helpful I found in college a lot. But, coffee I have only used as a way to stay awake so I don't crash my car when driving late at night in trying to drive somewhere. I try to never drink coffee so it continues to keep me awake when I most need it to stay alive driving at night or when I didn't get enough sleep the night before.
