My thought is that Crowdsourcing is a lot like the Internet itself. It can be a very good thing or a very bad thing or anything in between depending upon the quality and intelligence of the people you are crowdsourcing with.
So, it all depends upon whether the people you are crowdsourcing with are basically sane and share your values or not. I think it is sort of like going shopping or to church or to school. You really don't know the quality of people you are dealing with. You CAN give them the benefit of the doubt and treat them as equals but they may or may not be equals in any way, shape or form. So, just like the Internet unless you find ways to protect yourself and your family you could have a very bad experience.
But, with enough legal protection and enough savvy amazing things could be accomplished. Lives could be saved. New civilizations and religions and philosophies could be born.
But, also the opposite and human extinction itself could come through crowdsourcing too. So, be careful and be wise and let's create really amazing things here on earth and beyond. Okay?
However, crowdsourcing is not crowdfunding. However, you do use crowdsourcing to get crowdfunding or to donate to a crowdfund.
I guess what I'm saying is to be sure to legally protect yourself from harm when you do either.
And over time maybe you might more fully understand what I'm saying here as you experience first hand what I'm writing about.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
