Here are some headlamps. I just happen to have bought this brand a few years ago when I went spelunking in Jot Dean Ice Cave near Medicine Lake near Mt. Shasta. You can see the solid ice waterfall we had to slide down holding onto rocks embedded in it but in case a rock breaks loose you might want to use a rope here for safety so you don't sprain or break an ankle if you slide down this too fast if a rock breaks lose you are holding onto. However, it is also possible that conditions might be different when you get there too because surface weather likely affects what you will encounter underground to some degree.
I met a lady whose grandfather used to store deer meat in this cave around 1900 when it was even wilder than it is now out there. We drove for about 50 miles without seeing anyone at all to get to this cave on paved roads. No gas stations or houses either. Party because this area is snowed in up to 6 months of the year and the roads aren't plowed for the most part either. So, it is very important to prepare for this kind of journey with enough water, food and gas to get there and back because there isn't cell phone service there for the most part either. But some places you might get a text message out.
You also might want a topographical paper physical map because you might not be able to call up maps on your smart phone either.
