In addition to the 10,000 children dying per month, another 550,000 are also wasting away every month

Further, more than 550,000 additional children each month are being struck by what is called wasting, according to the U.N. — malnutrition that manifests in spindly limbs and distended bellies. Over a year, that’s up 6.7 million from last year’s total of 47 million. Wasting and stunting can permanently damage children physically and mentally, transforming individual tragedies into a generational catastrophe.

Wasting away would be like someone I know who once a year does a 40 day fast. Even though he is in his 70s his metabolism (at least so far) allows him to do this. But, wasting would be if a child went on 3 40 day fasts until they eventually got brain damage, stopped growing and finally died from only drinking water for 3 or more months. This is wasting away and 550,000 children each month are doing this until they die.

I don't think we have seen starvation on this level since World War II and the Great Depression both of which happened before I was born. I was born just after the end of World War II. So, I grew up with people around me (my friends from church and school) whose parents had pretty severe PTSD from the Great Depression and World War II.

Those who couldn't get more functional were dead mostly by 1950 or 1960.

The coronavirus toll will likely be going on until 2030 or 2040 with serious PTSD problems from starvation and the loss of parents and friends and relatives until at the very least 2030 to 2040.

People should psychologically prepare for this because it's going to be very hard to watch worldwide.
