When adults have been raised in an environment where unfounded beliefs were a part of their upbringing, they are much more likely to believe in conspiracy theories and hoaxes. They also tend to make decisions based on hunches and preconceived ideas and biases as opposed to using factual information.

For example, Trump was trained as a child to not care about anyone outside of his family and because the family fortune came from a whorehouse and restaurant in Canada in the Klondike he sees women as things to use and to lie to. This also helps him believe in Conspiracy theories and not to value what doctors say about coronavirus if it doesn't fit his personal needs.
