Are Religions real or just Fairy Tales people tell their children to keep them alive and breathing?

Obviously, I'm writing here for people over 15 years of age or very precocious children and not actual children because that wouldn't be fair to them at this point in their lives if they are younger than say 12 to 15 years of age and have had some experiences in the real world that most of us have to live in.

Religions were created first as stories people told their children so they wouldn't just jump off a cliff the first time someone they loved like a friend, a mother or father or aunt or uncle or grandparent died.

These all started out as myths or stories they told each other around the campfire or when someone was sick and might die or had died in order to keep their children alive another day another moment another month.

If you study Cultural Anthropology around all cultures on earth you see this as a universal truth whether the people are shamanic (usually hunter gatherer) and before farming in that culture although this can vary around the world.

Or Farming cultures which caused many wars of people fighting over lands and crops and wives and lovers and friends.

Then Religions started to form around farming communities which created cities and more religions around the world as they formed.

Then religions were used by Kings and Queens to emotionally control the masses into obedience through Hell, Fire and Brimstone throughout the world and Kings and Queens were all supposed to be sent by God to Rule them (whether they were or not).

So, we see religions becoming instruments of physical and psychological control of the masses.

So then, what's true about religions?

I think this depends upon the persons needs we are talking about.

Each person has different needs at different points in their lives.

Let me give you an example of my own experience.

I believed that religious people were all pretty nuts from about ages 6 or 7 to 10 because they wouldn't go to doctors and get healed and died a lot in the 1950s. So, I was moving away from religion because it seemed counterproductive to human survival in the 1950s. But then, I fell and hit my head and got a concussion that caused me to have seizures at night when I was asleep. Then I thought God was trying to kill me from ages 10 to 15. Without believing in God I wouldn't have survived ages 10 to 15. However, between 15 and 21 I went to church and church conferences in Mt. Shasta, Santa Fe, New Mexico and in Chicago by Plane when I was 18 and 19 years old.

However, by age 21 I wasn't prepared to stay as a church member anymore because I had grown up and realized that churches in General are pretty hypocritical on multiple levels. There are no churches by the way that aren't like  this I have found over time.

So, there is this: "Do what I say but not what I do."

So, hypocrisy in endemic in all churches so people lie a lot worldwide in churches which is something I couldn't deal with as a 21 year or even now for that matter.

Here's the real problem. The level of morality that is expected within all churches is humanly impossible so this makes people do awful things. And this part is universal in ALL Churches Christian or otherwise worldwide.

So, to be in a church is to to some degree to be living a lie worldwide. This is my problem with all churches worldwide even though this problem varies from church to church it is still there in a universal way worldwide.

And the problem is even worse than this in that members of any church tend to trust other adherents in ways that are self destructive to them (especially now in times of covid).

So, more people in churches worldwide are dying than those who primarily believe in medical science from Covid as a direct result.

Although I should also say that many who believe in God but also believe in science will survive all this okay.

Here's the real problem: "Believing in myths and fairy tales might be okay most of the time but it just gets people killed during pandemics and plagues and wars."

So, be very careful what you believe in these days at least because your beliefs could easily become fatal to you or others in your family. Because the coronavirus is sort of like a criminal that wants to steal your life and doesn't care at all what you believe in.

But, if you don't believe in medical science now you are as good as dead already.

Believing in God might be the most important thing in your life but if you don't believe in medical science too you are as good as dead already or you will watch close friends and relatives die around you which might even be worse than dying yourself. And this isn't just in the U.S. this is true worldwide for the next few years here on earth.

Because we don't know if or when Coronavirus is actually going to fade out around the world or if it's going to mutate and become like a common cold or flu that just keeps killing people ongoing.
