I got it wrong: Mary queen of Scots is a different Mary than Elizabeth I's sister

Elizabeth I's half sister Mary was queen for a while before she died and then Elizabeth I became queen. She reconverted the country to Catholicism and planned to Marry a Spanish King or Prince which seemed to be a part of some kind of rebellion. So, I think Elizabeth I was put in charge as queen by the Protestants who knew she supported them in England. So, Elizabeth I became the most important Queen in History because he reign was successful and kept England free from any invaders and kept protestantism intact in England during her Reign and ever after.

Elizabeth succeeded to the throne on her half-sister's death in November 1558. She was very well-educated (fluent in five languages), and had inherited intelligence, determination and shrewdness from both parents. Her 45-year reign is generally considered one of the most glorious in English history.

Elizabeth is 13-years-old when Henry VIII dies. Her nine-year-old half-brother Edward becomes King.

Elizabeth joins the household of her stepmother Catherine Parr. When Elizabeth is caught in an embrace with Parr’s husband Thomas Seymour, she is banished from the house. In 1548 Catherine dies in childbirth and Seymour is subsequently executed for plotting to marry Elizabeth and kidnap Edward VI. When Elizabeth is questioned by the authorities she protests her innocence and escapes prosecution.

I had never heard of King Edward VI of England before so I guess King Henry VIII actually had one son who lived long enough to rule for a time. Then Mary, Catherine of Aragon's daughter ruled until she died too. Then Elizabeth I ruled starting in  1558 until her death in 1603.
