None of us really could have foreseen this (except for maybe the Chinese Angry at Trump). So, we are now paying for it because of our historic and eccentric Rugged Individualism. We are used to be different. We are used to being eccentric as a nation. In some ways we are similar to Australia that is full of rugged individualism too.
Is Rugged individualism good or bad?
I think you have to see it as both good and bad. In some ways it allows an individual or a family to survive really horrific things. My father, my grandfather and I have all been rugged individualists capable of moving forward alone if necessary.
But now, this very quality is killing us left and right. Because the coronavirus doesn't care if anyone is a rugged individualist or not, it is only trying to survive literally any way it can for as long as it can. So, the rugged individualism of coronavirus outdoes the human version by a factor of maybe about a million.
So, at this point, human rugged individualism is killing a whole cross section of human beings of all races and creeds and religions all over our planet, hemisphere by hemisphere.
In other words, if it is winter where you are expect a whole lot of people dying, now or this summer.
