What surprises me about today over when I grew up

When I grew up if we lost this many people to coronavirus the reaction would be completely different than now. It seems like people today are much more selfish and less self sacrificing than they were when I grew up.

Many things have contributed to this but I think the main difference is World war II is over and the Cold War is over. So, there is less need for us as a country to band together for the common good. So, we are partisan to the extreme which you would have NEVER seen when there was the draft for young men.

Why?

Because the Draft took everyone (if they played fair) and so young men rich and poor and educated and not all were drafted and served together and fought together on the same side from World War II through the end of the Cold War in 1990. And these friendships often were for a lifetime and bound the nation together for the common good.

So, the extreme partisan nature of our country (which very well might end our country completely within the next few years if Trump is re-elected) is ever present now to the detriment of the continued existence of these United States.

Unless we can join together as a nation now and into the future I believe the whole Free world is over on earth. Because without the leadership of the U.S. in the Free World "THERE WILL NOT BE A FREE WORLD AT ALL HERE ON EARTH!"

And everyone will only be slaves and that's all.
