with a "herd immunity" approach, as it's been reported the White House has discussed, more than 200 million Americans could get sick and more than 2 million could die

So, with 2/3 of the population of the U.S. potentially infected and 2 million dead Americans (according to the (Trump-Atlas) plan you can begin to see just how ridiculous this approach actually is, especially when you consider the zero deaths in places like Taiwan and South Korea at least for now.

The World Health Organization called the herd immunity proposal "unethical" and never used "in the history of public health." It's also scientifically incoherent. We don't yet know if people who have recovered from the virus develop permanent immunity, as with chicken pox, or only temporary protection. Some patients develop long-term complications that may affect their health for months — or years — to come. And not only do we have plenty of evidence that young and healthy people can get very ill and die of Covid-19, we also know that there is no way to isolate the most vulnerable, since infections among young adults can easily spread to senior citizens.
As the US climbs toward its third peak of infections, make no mistake: If Donald Trump is reelected, he'll continue to dismiss and downplay the pandemic. And with a "herd immunity" approach, as it's been reported the White House has discussed, more than 200 million Americans could get sick and more than 2 million could die.
    end partial Quote.
And according to my own mathematical calculations we are presently (under Trump) headed for potentially 2 million dead Americans and 200 million having had Coronavirus (within the next 2 years time). And the majority, (I believe around 80% of those that get coronavirus more seriously tend to have temporary or permanent health damage to their lungs, hearts, brains or other organs of their bodies.
Herd immunity more than anything else because of all the many many unknowns regarding this virus is ONLY a recipe for disaster because of the very nature of this virus being so unpredictable. In other words, even after a year and a half of the existence of this virus very little is really still known about it while it continues to mutate much like the common cold around the world. Because Vaccines may not be a silver bullet after all and may just complicate this whole thing more than we understand already worldwide.
