The rain is hitting Half Moon Bay, San Jose, Stockton on the way to the Sierras which is getting snow

Todays part of the storm is just light rain which is what everyone expected. However, starting about midnight Sunday night it could get pretty scary for a lot of folks, especially if they live below burn scars.

Luckily, where I live I don't live close to a burn scar so we aren't worried about that. But, we are worried about 50 to 60 mph winds along the coast that could bring down trees and cut off power to our area more than anything else. We live high enough off the ocean that flooding shouldn't be a problem within a few miles of here. But, I noticed my generator isn't starting up and I also noticed the people that might fix it are no longer in business that I have worked with for about 20 years on stuff like this so that is a concern if the power goes off. And this time I don't have a motor home with a Onan Generator in it because we sold it a few years ago. So, if our power goes out we likely will either build a fire in our fireplace or go to a hotel or whatever we need to do this time. Later I might buy another generator but buying a generator for a day to a few days a year sometimes seems like a poor investment too even though two days in a nice hotel likely will pay for the generator. So, it's something to think about depending upon how bad this stormy season gets ongoing.

I think it might have been last year when 100 pine trees were blown down in our area from the high winds.

Most of them were 1 to 3 feet in diameter at the base of the trees.
