If I look forward through time I see something different than what I saw in 2016. At this point with Trump out of office (as long as he never becomes president or speaker of the House ever again) I see a fairly decent future for the human race.
What has changed?
The biggest thing that changed is that we don't go extinct in 2095 from a much worse pandemic than Covid.
This is the biggest single change in the time line.
So, we have bought ourselves "AT LEAST" 50 to 70 years more to around 2150 to 2170AD before we have to worry about human extinction next.
However, what appears to be a constant is only about 1 billion humans still alive in 2100 AD
Why this number?
Here's the problem:
8 billion people on the surface of earth is simply not sustainable for thousands of years.
But, 1 billion or less people IS sustainable for thousands of years if it is done properly.
So, what I'm saying is that it is likely that if you divide your present population of your nation by 8 you will see what the population will be then.
For the U.S. it is a little over 40 million people still alive here by the way after you divide the population by 8.
Also, big wars like World war II aren't the problem this century. If there are wars it will be over the moon or Mars and likely fought out in space not so much here on earth. Also, if this happened we likely might not even be told about this here on earth by the nations fighting.
The moon and mars will be fought over sort of like the way nations struggled over Antarctica and oil rights in Arctic. So, it is mostly a war over national resources more than anything else.
For example, water is really valuable on the Moon or Mars so people might fight over water rights for example. If you have water you also have easy access to both water but also you can split water into Oxygen to breathe and hydrogen to power space craft too. This could be done through solar DC power from the sun as well in small increments over time. Also, there is likely water frozen in crevices where the sun doesn't get to in the Asteroids or on moons throughout the solar system too.
