Whether we are humans or immortals somewhat like the Eternals there are moral and ethical dilemmas we all face. This appears to be what "The Eternals" seems to be about.
So, in some ways it is a weighty and a heavy movie to process depending upon the person. A younger child might have an entirely different experience with it but if you are a for real adult used to making moral and ethical choices in your life on a daily basis this can be a very difficult thing to watch (especially if you are taking it very seriously). So, children might have one response to this movie and adults quite another.
It deals with immortality and the future of life on earth which during a time of Covid might be an important thing for serious people to consider. So, though it might be escapist for children, for adults it is a very heavy movie if you take any of it seriously at all.
