The Cold War from 1945 to 1990

The Cold War was a period of geopolitical tension between the United States and the Soviet Union and their respective allies, the Western Bloc and the ...

I was trying to quote from "The Cold War" in Wikipedia. For some reason I couldn't do it because of a problem with the Internet. So, instead here is a Link at the top to it so you can visit this site yourselves:

The Main reason the Cold War began right after World War II is that although Tojo and Hitler were defeated, the U.S. was still having problems with the Soviet Union and China. The Korean war was because of conflicts directly with China over Korea which eventually caused a split now called "North Korea" under communism or Autocracy and South Korea which is much like the United States and Europe now as a democracy. Although many people thought Viet Nam would wind up like Korea, it didn't. The Chinese Civil War was between Chiang Kai Shek and Mao Tse Tung and the communists and Mao won this war and Chiang Kai Shek took his army to Taiwan, a large Island off the Chinese Coast. His followers have continued there until now because it became a democracy like South Korea did too.

Over time 100 million people died between 1945 and 1990 in the Cold War which included proxy wars between the U.S. and the Soviets and China for 45 years time all over the world.

We seem to be entering another Cold War like this once again which could consume some or all of this century too. The real trick of course is not letting proxy wars like in Ukraine turn into all out nuclear war which ends all life on the planet. This was the real problem in the Cold War too.
