I have been to the Bihar State in India but I can't imagine how 17 people could die from the same lightning strike!
I knew friend who at one time was a girlfriend before I married who was carrying an umbrella to keep the rain off her and lightning struck her and went unconscious. I also think it shortened her life as well as she passed away in her early 60s.
