For example, when my father bought his property Near Yucca Valley there was no piped in water available yet. So, we had a water tanker (like a small gasoline truck that only hauls water) to fill outr 1200 gallon water tank that Dad and I put up on top of a well built tool shed we built especially to carry that much weight. At first we used gravity feed to use the water for everything from washing dishes to taking showers: everything. Eventually my father and I installed a Pressure tank to automatically pressurize the water once we had power onto the land. Between 1968 and 1980 we built my parents a retirement home there in the desert over time. My father had purchased when I was a baby a Spartan 28 foot Aluminum trailer (like an airstream only a different shape) and he towed this trailer around this time to this land he had bought and used the Trailer to stay in while building his retirement home on weekends from 1968 until 1980 when my mother and father retired there.
So, with a water tank of 1200 gallons or more and a pressure tank you can in an emergency haul water to your land even if your well runs dry.
Eventually, my father went to a county meeting for piping in water but he was the only one on his section of land who actually wanted piped in water at that time. So, they piped in the water for him at that time.
The point is even if your well runs dry there are still people who can haul water for you or you can buy a special trailer to haul your own water likely as long as you find a good source of water at a good enough price.
