When I grew up we were taught about the 3 branches of Government but this doesn't happen anymore. So, how can younger people than myself actually understand U.S. government if they aren't even taught about it in school?
The 3 branches of government act as checks and balances to each other. It's true that through deceptive means Trump has caused the Supreme court to be completely at odds with most Americans which has completely screwed up the system now. But, down through history often one branch of government or another is screwed up and dysfunctional like the Supreme Court is now in being so out of touch with the will of the majority.
However, for example, if all three branches of government are out of touch with the majority of the American people then that is when it is most likely to have another physical civil War.
Teaching our children about how our government works is necessary for them to continue our democracy. Otherwise we will sink into another totalitarian state like Russia or China.
Why don't more people see this as a fact of life?
Unless this is remedied our democracy (at least as we have known it to be is over).
Here are the three branches of Government:
1. Executive- The president of the United States and his entourage.
2. the Legislative branch-The house of Representatives and the Senate
3. The Judicial Branch- This is the one presently completely at odds with the majority of Americans.
If you don't even know the three branches of government or how they counterbalance each other how can you make any sense when you vote?
The whole point of 3 branches of government is to better serve the American people in times of distress like right now through the checks and balances upon each other that they are supposed to muster especially in times of the distress of our nation like now!
