Einstein was an amazingly brilliant mind so likely he could soul travel (whether he called it that or not) so what I believe Einstein actually did was to ride a beam of light at the speed of light as a soul traveler and to see what happened when he moved at the speed of light.
However, what was different was that Einstein was educated about Physics and Mathematics so he could translate this experience into math and science and scientific principles which are still useful today and helped create rocket travel and Nuclear power and all sorts of other things on into the future of Earth and beyond. Also, understanding this also helped create time travel here on earth in the 1940s as well on the U.S.S. Eldridge I believe in 1942 in Philadelphia Harbor. This happened by accident when they were trying to make ships invisible during World War II so they couldn't be seen to be blown up by U-boats then.
