Santa Barbara also has a jet port with Airlines like Southwest or Alaska Air Lines flying in there all the time too. This can be helpful in not dealing with LA traffic when you are flying in from another state or country or just from San Francisco to Santa Barbara or wherever you are flying in from.
Coming west often your hubs will be Phoenix or Las Vegas for flights to Santa Barbara too. So, it's possible to not get caught in heavy Los Angeles traffic which can now be a problem potentially 24 hours a day various places especially on 405 around the LAX Airport.
Also, Santa Barbara has places to rent cars which is good to know at the airport too but be sure to reserve your car or SUV or whatever BEFORE you fly in because you want to be sure something you actually want to drive is available. For example, I have rented things like Mustang Convertibles in Santa Barbara, San Bernadino and Las Vegas. I have also rented a Camaro Convertible in Portland Oregon. Vroom! Vroom!
