The First Buddhist Scripture to Arrive in Tibet was 233 Ad

Of Course Gautama Buddha predated Jesus by around 500 years so about 2500 years ago. So, the first Buddhist Scripture arriving in Tibet by 233 AD makes sense. However, in order to even get to Lhasa from India you would have to walk over a 20,000 foot high pass between Nepal and Tibet.

In 1986 I decided to not go to Tibet by bus from Kathmandu, Nepal simply because a friend of mine had witnessed a whole busload of dead people in a bus that broke down at the 20,000 foot high Altitude pass between Nepal and Tibet. The people had all died from lack of oxygen and exposure and were mummified. And in Asia in 1986 they were just left like this because of the basic impossibility then of rescuing these bodies. So, they were just left like this. I mean I suppose they might still be there today. I don't know for sure.

So, it makes complete sense to me why the first Buddhist Scripture didn't arrive in Tibet until 233 AD because most of the people trying to get that scripture to Tibet would have died trying to get there before this. So, you wonder how many people tried and died before this?

So, Gautama Buddha would have been alive around 700 years before the first Buddhist Scripture arrived in Tibet.
