Top comment · Buckle up. I hit 2 years next month. Prior to here, people were apply to hundreds of jobs before hearing anything. Then being given round after round of interviews just to be told after like three rounds the position wasn’t actually vacant. Hit about 150 with no leads before I finally found a remote VA position that didn’t have the “live within 50 miles” stipulation. Word of advice: Skip indeed. It’s just a graveyard. You can scour it for places to apply but if it’s a bigger company, just apply on the website. It’s been a rough market for a while now.

I haven’t had this much trouble finding work since 2009, but I’m now a senior level engineer. I’ve had interviews but the bar has never been higher, and just getting through a recruiter screen can be a crapshoot. It feels like the job market was a game of musical chairs, but the music has been stopped for years.
