I think the most useful thing you can do to help starving people in the U.S. is to donate to your local Food Banks

This can help a lot. Locally, businesses have decided to match funds from the public at times from 2 to 4 times to amplify the amount of food being bought for these food banks also.

So, helping keep people alive by feeding them is helpful especially during this time of year when often homeless people and others are alone some place and confused by all the changes here on earth.

The fact that likely 90% of the jobs in the U.S. could go away in the next 5 to 10 years is daunting for these people too.

For example,  people who drive cars, trucks and buses for a living is the biggest working trade on earth. However, it is starting with Taxis but soon will move to buses and trucks over the next 5 to 10 years driven by computers and robots and AI. Though this will start in the U.S. and europe and Japan and China, soon it will spread all over the world sporadically as nations find it useful to do this as long as they feel it is safe enough to do.

So, the biggest mess this will create is likely all those people will be out of a job as time goes on and will still need food for their families to survive all this worldwide.

We try to donate money to local food banks several times a year so people don't die of starvation locally.
