It is useful to try to live where you are 300 feet or more above the ocean. Why?

Because the ocean is rising fast, especially during storms and high tides especially King tides that happen in Winter.

While I was in Maui this time I saw this a lot where trees close to the ocean esepcially Kukui trees and Coconut palms that can stand to be next to the ocean without dying that much. I also learned that ancient Hawaiians used Kukui nuts for torches to keep the light especially while moving around at night on the Islands.

However, I was aware of all these things in 1999 when we bought our house and made sure it was above both where high tides would move to and also above where most tidal Waves would go to.

The altitude of the highest tidal waves generally would be 30 feet vertically where this can happen especially anywhere and also these tidal waves aren't like regular waves because it is more like the whole ocean raises 30 feet and goes inland for awhile before taking everything back out to sea with it. So, obviously to prevent being a victim of this is important for anyone who wishes to survive these kinds of things, especially anywhere on the Pacific Ocean including continents and lands and islands.
