Made it to 59 degrees after 31 degrees last night in Mt. Shasta

Another beautiful day here in Mt. Shasta. Went out to dinner last night at a place called Maddalena's in Dunsmuir which is a pretty good restaurant with my wife and three friends. It was a nice visit for all of us and a great Meal. There have been many transitions this week for My wife and I from driving north with my daughter and husband and their daughter to them going to visit my daughter's best friend who has a baby (now toddler) born within a few days of her daughter so hopefully they can be lifelong friends too.

Mostly we stayed in Mt. Shasta and recovered from all the traveling we have been doing to Austria and the Hawaiian Islands specifically Maui and Kauai. So it has been a very busy October and November for us and as older folks we are still recovering from that. Many family members are coming to Christmas at our House in the SF Bay Area within a week to spend Christmas with us there. However, we have three bedrooms and three baths so everyone should be very comfortable there for This visit.

So, we likely are meeting up with my daughter and husband and her daughter soon to travel south to our SF Bay area house before they travel back to Europe where they are presently living.

It was amazing to have the solar storms and Japan Earthquake while we were here in Mt. Shasta so I was sort of glad to be away from the ocean in case a 100 foot high Tsunami came in while we were gone. I'm really glad that didn't happen to California because if it had over 100,000 people or more would be gone from something like that in California, Oregon, Washington and Alaska and BC Canada.

Oh, Also, you could see the freight train who stopped to change engineers from the window of Maddalena. Also, outside about 5 raccoons were playing while we were eating too. Remember you are in the wilds in Mt. Shasta and Dunsmuir so there are a lot of animals.

There was bear poop on my friends 2 1/2 acres filled with Manzinita berries this trip too. it is unmistakable from anything else because it is so large. Only an elephant might be bigger scat.
