The Lahaina Fire was August 8th 2023

I have been in the Lahaina area twice since the fire first about a year and a half ago and once in November 2025 just a few weeks ago now. The City of Lahaina might be gone forever. (I'm not sure at this point). However, a few of the homes are being rebuilt one by one in the Lahaina area. So, though I doubt that the city of Lahaina itself will ever be rebuilt (unless some billionaires get involved or something) simply because the building costs to replace the city are extreme because lumber and other goods have to be shipped to Hawaii from the mainland (whichever mainland they are being ordered from) which is extremely expensive. This fire has driven up costs for everyone on Maui in extreme ways too (the fire).

For example, the AVERAGE cost of a house on Maui is now over 1 million dollars. This gives you an idea of just how expensive it is now to buy any land now on Maui and the rest of the islands might be like this too.
