Snowing even in Mt. Shasta City this morning (but not sticking long in the city)

However, by noon the Snow level (where it is snowing had moved up to at least 4000 feet elevation and most of the city is around 3500 feet. So, we decided to drive to Bunny Flat if we could get there again today. So, I drove up and it was pretty easy driving this time (it was slippery and uplowed yesterday). But, today it was plowed all the way to Bunny Flat (6900) Feet. So, the road was pretty clear of snow and for some reason at least most of the way there the snow wasn't sticking to the road which made it much easier to drive without worrying so much about sliding around at all. All I had to do was whenever a tree dropped a load off it's branches onto the road to drive left around it because I didn't want the snow in my tire treads so I would have better traction.

Many of the trees were so laden with late season wet snow it seemed like many branches were going to break from the snow loads on them unless the weight pushed them low enough to dump the snow naturally off those branches like they did often into the road while driving up.

By the time we got to Bunny Flat we were in a full on Blizzard this time. Just trying to get out of the driver's side I had to take a face and body full of snow and snow into the car as well by the time I got out and I had a heavy snow jacket with a hood just inside the lift gate of our car to put on that I bought in Vienna last October at a big and tall store there with my daughter and wife and her baby daughter now about 18 months I think.

So, we were fine in the blizzard at Bunny Flat today. However, it was 31 degrees and the wind was blowing pretty good so you had to turn your back to the blizzard so you didn't get a face full of snow even with a hood on.

We got some pictures and some videos of our dog playing in the snow and since it was getting chilly in the blizzard and wind and stuff we decided to head down again because I'm basically 78 and my wife is 70. So, though going up to 6900 feet I don't tend to stay at this altitude very long at my present age like I used to skiing all over Mt. Shasta from about 1976 to around 2020 just before Covid started.

But, it was beautiful to be here in this incredibly beautiful place with the snow coming down which makes you feel cold and fresh and renewed and okay with the world, especially these days!

Thank God I'm here in Mt. Shasta with all this going on around the world!

It's the safest place I could imagine being on earth right now which is a nice sensation!
