The rain and the temperatures timing didn't really result in snow in town

You have to have temperatures 32 degrees Fahrenheit or below to have snow much even though the air sometimes can be that and the ground much warmer but then the snow doesn't stick. The most snow I saw out my hotel window was at around midnight last night when something that looked like frost or sleet or snow gathered some on the building next to ours. However, that's as close as we came to new snow coming down.

However, a couple of days ago I drove us up onto Mt. Shasta proper to 6900 feet at Bunny Flat and there we saw some snow flurries for real and it stuck on snow that was already there from before.

Also, the mountain today is pure white because it likely snowed just about everywhere on Mt. Shasta from about 5000 to 6000 feet altitude and up. It might have snowed lower than that but it likely would melt off by noon anywhere lower than those altitudes too.
