For example, Denmark and Austria are over 90% renewable electricity. And the EU on average for all european union countries is about 50% renewables throughout the region. We need to be here in the United States now at over 90% renewables too like water and solar and wind power wherever possible. Next time it could be a middle Eastern power like Iran that shuts off oil more permanently around the world in some new Nuclear power stance for example. So, the best way Americans can survive all this long term is to go to 90% or more renewables (Despite Trump's economic hate of any renewables) because like Most Republicans he's always been in Bed with the biggest Oil companies who don't want renewables. Republicans have been in Bed with Big Oil as far back as I can remember.
