Our Souls at Night (2017): Netflix
Robert Redford and Jane Fonda star in this movie made for Netflix.
It is an interesting premise of a widower and a widow who have lived next door to each other for years. She goes over to his house and says, "I want to sleep you with but not for sex. I think I could sleep with someone next to me again." He says: "I want to think about it." And this is how this movie made for Netflix begins. Knowing Robert Redford and Jane Fonda this likely is something worth watching. I have watched the first 5 or 10 minutes so far and because of the nature of the two actors I likely will watch more. Also, Rotten Tomatoes rates it at 92% which is usually pretty good.

FDR: There is nothing to Fear but Fear itself!
This was the most important lesson I learned between ages 10 and 15 years of age. I was dealing with Blunt Trauma childhood epilepsy which is NOT hereditary but instead comes from a blow to the head as a child. Then your skull has to grow to alleviate the pressure the dent puts in your skull upon your brain. It is the only form of epilepsy presently known that you can grow out of by your skull growing into adulthood.
This is what I dealt with from ages 10 to 15 years of age. I was watching the beginning of the 2nd season of "Stranger Things" and watching the Character Will become more and more terrified as time went on and it brought me back to wondering if I was going to die each seizure I had during those years. IN some ways it wasn't as bad as it could have been because All my seizures were at night while I was asleep in bed at home. But, the problem is when you have a seizure like this it is like being murdered each time it happens.
People often die from these kinds of seizures that are older than 25 or 30 simply because it causes them to have a stroke and die from the incredible stresses it puts on a human body to survive a seizure in the first place. I could barely survive these things and I was only 10 to 15 years of age!
I can easily remember a seizure coming on (you get what is called an AURA) and I had enough control to try to run to my parents room to help me because if you are having a seizure you don't want to be alone because it often means you could easily die by swallowing your tongue. So, you need people to prevent you choking on your tongue or even biting your own tongue off during a seizure or beating your head against the wall and dying of a concussion or all sorts of interesting stuff like this.
But, in the end because I was offered no medical intervention but B-Complex shots in the ass and my father wouldn't let me take Phenobarbitol because he considered this to be an awful drug which it was.
So, this meant I ONLY had mind over matter as in Christian Science kind of mind over matter of invoking God and Jesus Christ into the situation which I did!
But, in the end I would say the main lesson I learned is you just cannot afford to be afraid in life so you have to find a way to REFUSE to be afraid so you can do whatever you need to do to survive your lives!
So, I did find out how to do this. To refuse to be afraid and to invoke God and Angels into every aspect of my life ongoing. And this worked and still does.
Refusing to be afraid is just logical. For example, if you are over 40 or 50 years of age panic just will cause you to die and nothing else. So, if you aren't brave as a young person you better learn to be or you won't survive 40 or 50 or anything after.
You MUST Refuse to be afraid or to panic no matter what happens. Because in life without a level and cool head we all are very soon dead!
This is just life as it really is and always has been!

Alignment
This might not be what you think this article is going to be about. I had a set of new tires put on one of my daughter's cars this week and got a 4 wheel alignment for it today and last week took my other daughter's car in for two recalls from her car's manufacturer and to change the oil and generally check out the car since my younger daughter doesn't usually do all that yet because she is still pretty young. They are traveling together right now with my wife but I wasn't well enough to fly (because you shouldn't fly with a sinus infection because that could be fatal). So, I didn't travel with them like I had I had planned to. So, instead I wound up housesitting my daughter's place in Oregon and visiting with and helping my son and his family get settled in their return to the U.S. from living and working overseas for 5 years. So, a few trips to Ikea and consignment stores and Costco and Fred Meyers and places like that worked for them in setting up a new household etc.
So, I've got my two daughter's cars to where I don't have to worry about their safety at least for now and helped my son and his family too since I'm retired now and basically can go anywhere I want to. But, being a family man always since I was 26, my family is where I want to be. Best is traveling the world with my family whenever possible and meeting interesting people and seeing interesting places and learning more about myself and the world and everyone and everything else along the way.
I brought my 4 wheel drive long bed Tundra which is good for hauling couches and Ikea unassembled furniture and saving a few hundred dollars or more in having stuff delivered this time and stopped off to visit my friends in Mt. Shasta where I lived off and on from 1976 until 1992 when I owned 2 1/2 acres up there and built an A-Frame to home school my children from 1980 to 1985 when they were all 5 years old to 12 years old (the oldest) in 1985.
So, it has been likely the longest my present wife and I have ever been apart since she went to Antarctica with her friend a few years ago in January (which is a good time to go because that's summer there then.) Their ship went through 30 foot seas in which 60% of everyone on board (the ship and the crew) were sick as dogs from the constant pitching and rolling which is why I didn't want to do that. So, everyone (just about)was sick for over a week going from the tip of South America to Antarctica. But, my wife and her friend have cast iron stomachs and never get seasick either of them.
If I went to Antarctica I would want to fly there which is still very hard to do but likely will get easier every year now. So, if I wait long enough likely I can go fly and ski in Antartica like my wife's doctor has.
