Citigroup: The latest subprime casualty

Citigroup:The latest subprime casualty. I was reading an investor's blog today at marketwatch. They were mentioning that Citigroup was too big for any one investor or group to buy like Bank of America bought Countrywide.

Doesn't anyone else see what I see? If the people who got these loans so their families could own a house sometimes for the first time don't get some help and if the people who were doing fine paying rent but got pushed out of their rentals by the people losing their houses in subprime loans and who are now homeless don't get some help there are going to be some really serious problems in American like during the 1930's and 1940's. Can't anyone else see that as more and more loans unravel and more and more neighborhoods as a result will become to unsafe to live in for anyone?

This is a kind of crisis that is like a "Black Hole" that sucks everything into its almost infinite vicious cycle. Unless the "Black hole" is stopped soon we will be back in the 1930's once again. Also, since Globalisation is also an actuality now this subprime debacle will also drag down other 1st world economies into a depression. If you are in a second or third world nation you'd best forget expecting any help from any first world nations if this actually happens.

When I hear how they are trying to protect the SIV investors I'm dumbfounded that more people don't see what I see.

IF WE DON'T NIP THIS THING IN THE BUD SOMEHOW NOW THEN CRIME AND UNREST WORLDWIDE IS GOING TO GET REALLY RADICAL. PROTECTING SIV INVESTORS WON'T MEAN ANYTHING THEN!

Actually, right now there are three black holes:
1. Subprime black hole
2. Oil and Gas price Black hole
3. Global Climate Change Black hole

I think the world economies could absorb any one and possibly any two of these problems. However, with all three at once I don't know!

This article mentions a ship one mile long by 1/2 mile wide. I remember reading a book called Behold a Pale Horse that was written by a U.S. Naval Officer. He mentioned a ship about this big that he saw coming up out of the ocean while he was on the conning tower of a submarine on lookout duty. He said it really shocked and scared him.

Honestly, if anyone saw a UFO 1 mile long and 1/2 mile wide they might be at the least extremely concerned.

On Mt. Shasta in 1974, I had some kind of UFO experience and then again in broad daylight in the summer of 1992 in the city of Mt. Shasta, California, without a cloud in the sky I saw an approximately 30 foot diameter disc accompanied by three double bladed unmarked military helicopters. I observed the disc in military formation with the unmarked double bladed military type helicopters before I watched it disappear without a sound even though the helicopters were incredibly loud while their blades broke the sound barrier. After the UFO disappeared the helicopters headed off in formation in the direction of Nevada.

Note:added January 15th 2008- The article mentions that 14% of the U.S. population have seen UFOs. If this is true then 42,140,000 (forty-two million one hundred forty thousand+) people have reported seeing UFO's in the United States.

PTSD:Mini-Viet Nam?

PTSD:Mini-Viet Nam? I was reading an article about 121 recent war veterans being linked to killings in the United States. This sort of thing was much worse after Viet Nam. The killings, the wife beatings and bludgenings etc. Many of those with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from Viet Nam are the ones begging for money and food on the streets ever since Viet Nam of major cities across the U.S., especially Los Angeles and San Francisco. Many of them left their families before they injured or killed them or served their time in jail for killing or abusing their family or friends and now live on the streets. That's the legacy of every war: Destroyed men and women.

Though the death and carnage that visits itself on the United States from its latest veterans will be much less than those that came back from Viet Nam there is much less in the form of social services to protect both them from harming themselves or others and to protect society from their unintended harm.

The biggest single cause of this problem other than witnessing carnage and death is when a soldier(male or female) has to kill in the line of duty.

In the general populace there is only a small fraction of people who have actually killed someone intentionally or otherwise. However, once the precedent of killing occurs it is a lot like not being a virgin anymore, the killing is much easier to do than for those who have killed and much harder to stop for someone who has killed.

Many of my friends were in the Viet Nam war and I have learned to always be careful what I do and say when I'm around these friends. If one of your relatives is a recent veteran please understand that they don't want to kill you but I must warn you: Don't piss a veteran off or it might be the last thing you ever do!

To Grow a Heart

To Grow a Heart outside a body. This sort of thing has been talked about for years. Though it is not yet a human heart that was grown it is no longer "If" but "when" now.
Though some of you might think this creates ethical problems and of course it does, it might be more useful to say that people are just going to do it so we all just have to get used to it because it is happening right now with or without our permission. And I don't really think anything or anyone can stop it. Oh, it might be stopped in Christian nations or in Muslim nations but what about the completely secular nations like China and to some degree the remnants of the old Soviet Union, Russia and the rest? Nothing will stop human hearts being created outside of bodies.

So then since it is basically de facto here or almost here then the next question becomes, "Will I use this new cellular technology or not?" Then the next question is:"If the technology is available can I afford it and will I use it to survive if young and/or to prolong my life if I am old?" Then another question arises if one needs such technology which is:"Can my body tolerate such a thing inside it?" All these questions one by one must be asked and answered by all who would use this new cellular technology of growing replacement hearts or even of growing heart cell patches.

Intuition

Intuition is described as (the ability to sense or know immediately without reasoning).

My mother and her mother were dyslexic. I never knew this until my mother at 82 finally told me. It explained a lot.

Though I am not dyslexic and inherited my fathers intelligence I also inherited the ability to process regular or dyslexic intuitive which is an incredible survival advantage I have found through the years. Albert Einstein is perfect example of what you get when you combine a scientific mind with extreme intuition like it is often found in dyslexic people.

A regular mind might process 1,2,3,4,5. However, an intuitive mind whether it is dyslexic based or not might process 1,1000, 1,000,000 and be equally accurate in 1000th the time of a regular mind.

For example, within 5 to ten seconds of looking at a person I know everything I need to know about that person just intuitively. As a young man I think that is why I have always been very successful with women. Another point of view was articulated to me during Thanksgiving when a 15 year old relative said that she thought I was the kind of person Mel Gibson depicted in the movie WHAT WOMEN WANT where he heard their thoughts.

I prefer not to hear peoples thoughts all the time. Once this happened automatically for me but I asked God to not have to listen to others minds all the time as I found it maddening. I asked God just to show me what I needed to know each moment. He did this and life got a lot better from then on.

I believe the best way to refer to intuition would be to say it is an outgrowth of instinct that has become more useful in tribes and civilizations to ones physical and emotional survival and prospering in all ways.

Cultivating both instinct and intuition is accomplished best simply by closely observing all phenomena around one externally combined with observing ones dreams and visions and intuitions. By doing this one learns to become more holistic in ones approach to life. This always leads one to leading a better life and becoming much more aware of everything everywhere. The can eventually lead to peace, prosperity of both a financial and spiritual nature. So ones happiness and fulfillment in life is directly connected to developing ones instinct and intuition and compassion for oneself and all beings in the universe.

Equanimity:Buddhist Philosophy

Equanimity:Buddhist Philosophy. I found I was feeling sorry for myself tonight. I got to thinking about my three friends from childhood:one dead, one does not know who I am or who he is and one is a musician that I still ski with a couple times a year.

I started to thing about the Buddhist idea of equanimity. I have heard the idea many times spoken of by Tibetan Lamas. In theory at least I have tried to practice this idea of treating all moments in time and space equal and trying to generate equal feelings toward all life individually and collectively each moment. I have personally found that having compassion for all life in the universe to be much easier than to have compassion for someone on the freeway who has almost driven me off the road and into an accident. However, theoretically, one of the keys to full enlightenment is the real capacity to do this in all situations and for all beings in the universe in all moments. I have come closest to these kinds of consciousness when I look at all beings as children. Depending upon how I am feeling, thinking and acting I also look at myself as a child or as a teenager or as an enlightened adult when I am actually there. So, I guess the way to do this properly would be to have compassion for all beings including oneself however, and wherever oneself finds oneself and all beings. While at the same time not practicing idiot compassion which is to endanger oneself or others by only feeling compassion without wisdom. Because compassion without wisdom is relatively useless to all concerned.

In one sense I do believe I have had some success with equanimity. When I was young I fell in love very deeply a couple of times and when it did not work out I came very close to suicide. Over time I began to see all my girlfriends as gifts from God to me just like the women I was so in love with that I almost died for them. In this way I actually began to see all the girlfriends and then my three wives as personal gifts from God that have made my life better and better. I believe that the equanimity of feelings for all the women in my life as manifestations of God have brought me to a kind of equanimity toward women that has brought me great peace.

Though I have been faithful now to my present wife since 1994 and I can say to you that was not easy, I can also say that having the integrity to be faithful that long has brought a kind of integrity and honesty to my life that is amazing.

So the next time you are angry at someone or yourself or the next time you are feeling sorry for yourself or suicidal please think about what I am trying to say here. I am still alive and have peace 40 years after being suicidal over two women that I was deeply in love with. In fact, one of them I could not fully admit to even myself how in love that one of them I was. It was just too scary a thing to admit to myself.

Developing compassion for yourself and all beings in the universe may be the most important single thing you ever do in this lifetime.

What is a Wife?

What is a Wife?(or significant other)

You are perfectly free to have your own definition. However, this is mine. A wife is a dear friend that you share interests with and who you can be sexually active with and potentially have children with. I know this because I have been married three times and have had one child with each wife. And each of my marriages was happy at least for a while.

I found that I loved being a father. Being a husband I think is an unnatural act for any man sort of like being a celibate priest. So that is how I equate it. The sacrifice of being a good husband (for me, at least) is only worthwhile for me to do on behalf of my children.

I talked to a priest about this once. He said that after(by then 25 or 30 years of counseling people as a priest) that people tended to fall into one of the following categories.
One: people who are happy and capable of being married to the same person for life.
Two: People who are capable of being married to the same person for life but are not happy about it.
Three:People who are capable of being married to several people(one at a time) through their lives.
Four: People who may live with people but who should never marry.
Five: People who shouldn't ever live with or marry a significant other.

He said each of these categories comprise about 20% of humans on earth. He said that emotional harm and physical violence arises when a person tries to do something that they are not capable of doing. So that the most important thing here is to know oneself very well before marrying or living with anyone.

I think this priest(now passed away)was a very wise man.

This does not mean that I didn't love my wives. This means that it is a great deal to ask of any man to be faithful to one woman until he dies. It is a man's biological predisposition to impregnate as many females as possible. This is just about being a male human mammal. Whereas, a human females biological predisposition is completely different. A woman is biologically designed for finding one male to stay with her and to protect her and their children. This contradiction in biological needs has given the human race fits for thousands of years already and doesn't look like it is going to stop doing that anytime soon. It is almost as if male and female humans are so completely different that they are like two different species.

Atonement

Atonement. I just saw the movie Atonement. I found it very well done. However, when I found out that the author was a man and not a woman I felt that he must hate women a lot to write something like this. At first I thought it was genuinely autobiographical of some English woman probably born in the 1920's sometime.

It took me back to my memories of the late 1940s and early 1950s. I can remember for example, my mother singing along with a record player and since she had an operatic quality voice it brought tears to my eyes when she sang along with Mario Lanza different operettas.

I can remember the velour covered seats of my fathers fancy 1941 Buick. It had been his brother's car when he died in 1942 so he had kept the car to remember his brother Tommy. I stood on the long old fashioned bench like rear seat and held onto the drivers seat back when my father drove. He didn't mind because if we stopped suddenly I would just be pushed into the seat back which was cushioned. If he went aroud a corner sometimes I would fall sideways but would soon get up. We would laugh together as he drove. I was 3 or 4 years old. In Seattle it was cloudy or raining most of the time my first 4 years of life and usually fairly cold. So I was used to the steam coming off my breath most days and nights outside there.

The traffic signals were mechanical then not just lights and there were just two mechanical arms on each traffic signal. One said "Stop" and the other said, "Go". So sometimes since there wasn't a yellow light in between people would crash into each other with their cars or trucks if they were impatient.

I remember exploring the forest and nature around Lake Forest Park, Washington with my male cousin who was 5 years older than I.I was then about 4 years old. He picked up a bunch of about a thousand frogs eggs from a pond or stream and showed me them. They were so beautiful and felt like jello or something like that and I could see a little fish like looking baby frog with its tail moving in each of the eggs in the cluster or globule of eggs. I have always imagined the galaxy like that ever since with different beings on each planet.

At age 4 I moved away from my grandfather's 2 1/2 acres of apple trees, black cherry trees, boysenberries, and raspberries to San Diego, California. My Mother, her mother and I went there by train. My father went a month earlier to get a house and a job there and to set things up for us. He met us at the train station in San Diego.

Name That Decade

Name That Decade. Since it is the New Year and 2008 I thought it might be fun to name that decade. Of course your ideas and experiences with each decade might be very different than mine and my parents. I'm starting with the 1930s because my parents were teenagers and adults starting then. My first conscious decade was the 1950's because I was born in 1948. So here goes.

1930s- despair and hopelessness
1940s- decade of death worldwide
1950s- Boring beyond belief
1960s- crazy beyond anyone's imagination
1970s- very interesting
1980s- very scary
1990s- a Golden age for most. the Calm before the Storm
2000s- World Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

This is my set of definitions. Maybe you could name your own set of decades and see what you come up with. Though the 1990s for most people were good because the Soviet Union and the Cold War had ended, 1990 to 1994 I didn't personally expect to survive.
From 1995 until 2000 I was desperately trying to create a new life before I was destroyed by my old life. Looks like I succeeded beyond my wildest dreams!

I remember my Aunt now passed away said to me in 1995,"You really landed on your feet, didn't you?". I said, "Yes, I'm very lucky!" She was referring to her son who has passed away now a couple of years older than me. And out of 3 best friends from my childhood through age 21 only one is both alive and still his old self.

I find that even though all my finances are now okay on into the future that I am having to psychologically reinvent myself like I had to starting age 21. Sometimes, near death experiences and awful experiences if one survives them, make one stronger and better able to cope with anything in one's future.

Back to Nature?

Back to Nature? After I wrote: Electricity is Nice which was about the recent power outage that I and 2.1 million other Californians, Nevadans, and Oregonians experienced for one or more days this last week including myself I started thinking about why I originally wanted to live off the electrical grid in 1980.

At that time as a part of working toward the enlightenment of myself, my wife and 3 kids then ages in 1980 of 6,7 and 8(two boys and a girl) we decided to buy land in an extremely beautiful remote place in the mountains and build and A-Frame house which we did with the help of my father, mother and a few friends. This experience was one of the most amazing in my life and ranked up there with taking my family to Thailand, India and Nepal for 4 months in 1985&6. Both these experiences changed all of us in a permanent way. However, I found in the long run that I was not prepared for many of the outcomes.

It appears that when you put yourself and your family in a very primal environment almost anything can and will happen. This can be incredibly wonderful and equally terrible. It can go either way and sometimes both.

What I was most unprepared for were the changes in myself. I found myself becoming more primal and to some degrees psychologically more feral. So when my the 12 year old stepson asked to go to school again and not to be home schooled I was ready for a return to rural suburbia. From a county of less than 40,000 total we moved to the California coast and bought another business.

However, while living mostly remotely over those 4 years (about 8 months a year we learned amazing things about life, each other, and many other completely unexpected things.

One of the many many things we learned is that you can't raise baby golden mantle ground squirrels after your cat eats their mother. This is because your country cat is way smarter than you think and the ground squirrels were never meant to be pets and likely will bite you and your kids. This turned out to be way more disgusting than any of us wanted to deal with. Though we tried to be baby ground squirrel parents we failed.

One of the funniest experiences was with a fairy diddle(flying squirrel). A flying squirrel will stand upside down on a huge Cedar tree(this one was 5 feet through) and scold you until you leave. I stood there and laughed at this behavior for over 5 minutes until I couldn't stand the racket anymore. The flying squirrel standing upside down on the side of the huge Cedar tree while chirping loudly and jumping up and down the tree had me in laughing hysterics. I thought later about how effective this was in making all predators leave the squirrels domain. As long as the predator couldn't climb a tree it was a very good ploy.

One of the scarier experiences was during deer hunting season. Then, sometimes I would hear bullets flying over my head. They sounded like angry bees. A few moments later I would hear the bang. When I watched the movie: Saving Private Ryan with Tom Hanks, I realized they actually captured what bullets and shells sound like when they are coming at you. My experience on my land made me angry, because this was my land the bullets were flying over at about 10 feet elevation. Even if the gun had been discharged a mile away it was flying over my land and endangering me and my family. I was also wise enough not to go searching for some idiot with a gun. Many have tried and many have died in such situations before me. If the person was responsible in the first place their bullets wouldn't have been flying over my land.

In the winter time we would park about 1 to 3 miles away from our home since the roads were dirt the last few miles and were not plowed by the state or county. A neighbor sometimes plowed but that gets really expensive when you have 7 feet of snow at a time on the ground. So when we parked 1 to 3 miles away, we would tow our supplies on Bobsleds that we pulled on cross country metal edged skis(sometimes they are just called mountaineering skis). We also skied a lot with them between 10,000 feet and 3,000 feet elevation on Mt. Shasta depending on the snow conditions that particular day.

I found living without electricity very restful and conducive toward enlightenment and developing intuitive abilities.

When you live in any house or apartment that is connected to electricity, even if the electricity is not being used in a house there is still electricity in all the walls because current goes back and forth to the power generating center through the earth to the connected house even if no electricity is being used or paid for. Any electrician knows this. So even if you turn off all electrical appliances and lights and heaters and whatever in your house you still are being affected by the electrical connection.

I find that when I'm completely away from all electricity, whether it is AC or DC I find I breathe a sigh of relief even now. It takes a lot to intuitively compensate for being around anything electrical. Since all our nerves and our whole body operates on low voltage electricity created by our bodies when we eat food we are all affected by electricity in all its forms including radio waves, microwaves etc. all the time. Though over time most of the humans in the (civilized?) world have gotten adapted to this, many people who have never had to deal with this might have a lot of difficulty adapting to electricity. Electricity seems like a good deal and in many ways it is. However, many people give up a lot of their natural intuitions that have protected all the human race for thousands of years. My concern is that so many people might become "techies" that too many people will lose the capacity to be intuitive and to experience things before they happen like I do and that the capacity to "see the future" might be lost in the next few generations.

The ability to "see the future" is best accomplished not be speeding up to the speed of a computer world but in "slowing down" to observe each thing in nature whether it be a rain drop, a snow flake, a breeze, the fog, a cloud or whatever. It is in the slowing down to observe all life and to experience "Oneness" and kindredness with all life and in developing compassion for all life around one that intuitive gifts become really amazing and then quantum jumps in awareness toward enlightenment take place.

electricity is nice

elecricity is nice. For a time in my thirties I chose to live 10 miles from the nearest small town at 4000 feet elevation without electricity for up to 8 months a year (seven feet of snow at once common during winters). However, now I'm 60 almost and not home schooling kids and teaching them to survive in the wilderness with just a knife and cross country skis. That was fun then. Now that much cold isn't as much fun when my back hurts from the cold.Don't get me wrong, I still love to ski,I just like to have a warm bath to come back to that I don't have to personally heat over a fire or on a wood stove like I did in the early 1980's for fun.

So,now when my affluent pine treed community on the ocean loses power like it did around 6:30 am last friday,I start to seriously consider buying a gas powered electrical power generator after about 3 days when I have to throw out about 400 or more dollars worth of food from my freezer and refrigerator. When I walked up to the refrigerator my socks got wet so I wondered what was wrong.
I soon realized that all the ice in the automatic ice maker was melting down onto the floor. It was hard for my mind to comprehend this because the temperature in ou large house was then about
55 degrees farenheit.(It had started at 62 degrees at 6:30 am last friday when the power went off.

So, since I was used to 60 to 68 degrees in my house 55 was very cold for me. I took what was left of the ice and put it in pots and then put it in fridge to keep the milk, butter and cheese cool. Except for bread most of the perishables in the ice box and fridge were already in the trash.

It took us about 24 hours to initially adjust to the power outage with my 11 year old being the most upset. Because of choosing to live off the grid during the early 1980's with my family and because my wife had spent a year on a yacht in the Medeterranean ocean in between her junior and senior year in college, both of us were used to living without alternating current, both 110 and 220.

Sensory deprivation. I had forgotten how altered being without television, computers,the internet makes one feel after living around electrical appliances except for camping trips for years now. And when I camp I choose where and when. It's not like being forced to live without electricity unexpectedly. It made me realize how very strange these kinds of weather accidents are and how very hard they can be on people who never thought living without electricity was fun.

By the way, the power went on one hour ago around 6 pm Tuesday after being off since 6:30 am last
Friday.

The Karmapa

The Karmapa. The last Karmapa came to the United States and I believe his passed over here in 1981. The tradition of "The Karmapa" predates the Dalai Lama in Tibetan Buddhism. The link goes back in spiritual lineage all the way back to Tilopa, master of Mahamudra and Tantra in who lived from 989 to 1069 AD. The lineage moved through Marpa, the Translator to Milarespa(the most revered Tibetan Buddhist Saint). These forefathers are often called the "Golden Rosary"

Though I did not meet the last incarnation when he came to America in the physical, I have felt a connection to him. I have seen photographs of when he came to America and faded out to where photographs of him showed him as a ghost and one could see very clearly the wall behind him. I have also heard stories from those Americans who traveled with him first hand, of how amazing events occurred all the time around the Karmapa.

I realized this evening that the new Karmapa that is recognized by the Dalai Lama was born in Kham, Tibet like my friend,Geshela. Though Geshela has passed away now here in the United States, the new Karmapa was born the summer of 1985 in Kham, Tibet. As a very young child he proclaimed himself to be a reincarnation of the Karmapa and eventually was recognized by Tai Situpa, another tulku. I reached Bodhgaya in late December 1985. We all reached Dharmsala from Bodhgaya by way of Varanasi, the Taj Mahal and New Delhi by way of Train. After a while in New Delhi, we continued by train to Amritsar in the Punjab and then by bus through Pathankot to Dharamsala, India.My family and I reached Dharamsala in late January 1986. The Dalai Lama lives in Dharamsala.

The 2nd Karmapa,Karma Pakshi (1204-1283) is often said to be the first person ever recognized and empowered as a tulku, a reincarnated Lama.

The present Karmapa is the 17th conscious reincarnation of the tulku Karmapa.

Since the last Karmapa is said to have attained enlightenment through Dream Yoga, I would like to quote from an article on Dream yoga from Wikipedia under the heading 'Dream Yoga'. When we went to a book signing last February I believe he mentioned the book, "Lost Star of Myth and Time" by Walter Cruttenden. Since I also purchased this book along with my wife I was looking at the back of the book and one of the people recommending this book was another author, John Major Jenkins. Now, I know that Father Charlie, as we called him was a friend of Walter Cruttenden. I don't know whehter he also know John Major Jenkins. However, since I have been interested in December 21st 2012 since I first heard of this in the lead up to the Harmonic Convergence in I believe it was 1987 and since it is now only 5 years away from December 21st 2007 that we all just passed I find myself being drawn to information about the end of the Mayan Calendar and to studies of the Mayan Prophesies that go along with this. I have named this article the site name for easy reference access. I don't know this gentleman or anything about him, other than he appears to be in good company as authors go. Now, all this might not mean a lot to you but it is important to realize here that I am a lifelong precognitive psychic. The more ancient proper term would probably be the I am a Seer. A Seer sees the past, the present as well as the future before it happens. And in addition to this God has entrusted me to altar time to keep myself and others alive who are necessary for the long term survival of the human race upon earth and beyond. I am faithful to God's demand of me as much as I am able and still stay alive.

Because one of God's demands of me through my teachers as a young man was to tell me that it was likely I would have to live a long long time. My reaction then was: sure!
especially because I didn't expect to live past 25 or 30 at the time. However, now I'm 60 and many of the things my teachers have told me have happened one by one. So they have proven to me the correctness of their visions.

Recently within one week of the Passing of Father Charles Moore, District Attorney of Santa Cruz County in the 1950's and Catholic Priest after that. Father Charlie came to me along with Arcangel Michael. Father Charlie knew I was a Seer like him and so came to me once he had passed on to have me spread the word to those who would automatically know the truth about what I'm saying. Arcangel Michael confirmed three times that day to me to the point where I have no doubt of the birth of the Second coming of Christ around the date of December 21st 2012.(leeway of a couple months to a couple years should be allowed) I have had enough confirmation to know this will happen now. 99% of the people of earth or more won't know where, who, or when until about 30 years after the birth just like before. Though my personal belief is that Jesus and Maitreya come as one this time thus fulfilling the prophesies of two religions, that is my personal belief. What I know for sure is that the birth of the Second coming will take place on or around 2012 somewhere on earth, on water on earth or in the air (on a plane?) in the environs of earth. I also know likely I will know when and where. Will I be allowed to visit when it happens? That is entirely up to God.

Thirty years after 2012, which will be 2042, everyone on earth will be aware of the Second Coming of Christ!

You can now see why understanding more about the Mayan Calendar which ends on this date, of the Binary Star that our sun rotates around and of the planetary and Galactic alignment that only happens once every 26,000 years would be of pressing interest to me.
