You cannot really understand science without understanding philosophic inquiry

Religion is never about the truth it is instead about belief. It's like if I said, "When I go out of the sun sometimes there is a big ball of fire in the sky, sometimes it rises out of the earth and sometimes it sets into the earth or a lake or the ocean or into a forest." You would then know I'm talking about the sun (if you had ever gone outside and also had seen the sun ever. Religion in some ways is like this, we share our beliefs of what the sun is or what the SON is or what God is.

But, we might never know what the sun is composed of or what a photon is or what hydrogen nuclear fusion is either. All these things came from Philosophic inquiry which is about finding true answers to actual questions.

Because religions can never stand the scrutiny of philosophic inquiry because they are about beliefs and not about proving those beliefs beyond the shadow of a doubt.

Beliefs are what they are because it's sort of like having a rabbit's foot in your pocket for good luck. Does the rabbit's foot actually have good luck? It might if you believe it does. So, in this sense for some people a rabbit's foot is like any religious symbol too to people who have been conditioned to believe in anything on earth.

But, science is about discovering the truth about everything. Can science actually find the truth about everything? I think not. But, in some ways it does a better job about finding actual truth than religions can. So, religions are about believing something is true but not proving it.

Whereas philosophic inquiry is about proving something is true so it is true whether you believe it or not. And if you use the same methods you might be able to prove something true for yourself as well.

But, this cannot be said for any religions precepts because they cannot be proved as true. Everything has to be accepted on Faith alone.

Since I tend to use philosophic inquiry on everything in my life I tend not to be welcome in churches I have found. Maybe it's better this way.

The Danger of course is that some people treat Science the way other people treat their religions. Because if you go in this direction in some ways it can be just as dangerous as all religions can be in their own way too.

But, strangely enough, philosophic inquiry might also solve this problem too if the right questions are asked.

So, this is why I like the Socratic Method and philosophic inquiry because you can get more useful answers than with most other methods.

Another method I like is the scientific method that breaks down all things into hypothoses, Theories and Laws.

So, you might do like I do which is to put almost anything you ever heard into the category of a hypothesis. As you get more and more proof for any hypothesis you might then move it over to being a Theory. But, you are going to have very very very few laws because most things simply cannot be proved well enough to become a law
