Yes.
This is actually a real possibility.
Why?
Just because everything technical has completely changed everything it would be possible to mimic things being somewhat the same to the uneducated regarding technology.
However, someone with a Master's degree from MIT or Cal Tech in Computer Science might be able to recognize the signs of change anyway.
For example, an Iphone or Android likely will be much more intelligent than any human brain on earth by 2020 to 2025. If you networked several billion Iphones and Androids during this time you likely would have some type of Technological singularity right there.
