when the winds bring fires to California

In the Fall winds off the deserts usually towards the oceans and out to sea called Santana Winds come periodically. This can be the most dangerous time for fires like they are now. But, Global warming just makes these winds stronger and faster and even more dangerous than they were before.

For example, when I was growing up Santana winds were usually 30 to 50 miles and hour in wind speeds. Now they might average 50 to 80 mph or more in wind speeds. This makes an incredible difference in how fast and how far cinders can move fires on the winds and how many new places can light especially in the fall.

In the past we would often see fires burn from places like 101 and Las Virgenes Canyon Road all the way to the ocean in Malibu. This could be an almost yearly event for some reason. However, now you have things like the Getty Fire which would have been unheard of a few years ago burning up places like West L.A. and Brentwood and Bel Air all the way to Mulhulland Drive up in the coastal range where all the movie stars have always lived throughout these areas.

This just makes the fires more and more terrifying for everyone in Los Angeles where even West L.A. isn't safe anymore which shows the changes of Global warming upon the fires throughout California.

Earthquakes used to be the scariest things in California when I grew up but now since about 2000, Fires are 10 or 100 times more scary than the earthquakes at this point state wide.
