There is a little box that says smoke. click on that and it will show you a video of smoke and what it will tend to do in any area if you magnify the area you are traveling through or visiting on vacation.
If you have breathing problems it isn't a good idea to go to altitude when there is smoke. I know this from personal experience. Unless you have adapted to whatever altitude you go to you might wind up in the hospital if there is smoke.
My wife had to go to the hospital the first night we were there when my youngest daughter was pretty young still. My wife wouldn't listen to me about unloading the car and climbing stairs and wound up in the hospital on oxygen for the night in Lake Tahoe, California at 6000 feet elevation.
Even if you are young at altitude you have to be very careful around smoke because your body is not getting the oxygen you need and you might start getting light headed. And if you cannot get to oxygen you could die if you are in smoke.
If you are traveling through smoke with an air conditioner in your car or truck you put the air on recirculate so no outside air can come inside and you turn on the air conditioner and don't open windows and doors until you are through the smoke to a better air area.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
