I saw the article in section B of the Sunday Monterey County Herald on May 3rd 2009.

The articles name is the same as the title of my blog article.
At first I thought it might have something to do with the swine-bird-human flu that people are worried will become a pandemic.
begin quote from article:"Dead cormorants and grebes have been found in increasing numbers along the coast recently, local biologists say, and preliminary investigations indicate the cause is a lack of food." end quote.
This might be true but since this H1N1 virus can affect swine, birds, and humans at the very least I think researchers should look into whether the birds have H1N1 as well as some pigs and humans. The problem with this if it is true is that birds could also spread this virus to other humans and other birds and other pigs globally. This could be dangerous not only for humans but many species of birds and pigs as well worldwide because many bird species migrate from season to season.
However, since most wild bird species are on the decline, culling bird species might just drive some species extinct permanently.
So, the world needs to think about this as well if it is found that these birds are dying from H1N1 flu.

If as in the above web article Swine flu(h1n1) can go from people to pigs then it likely can go from people to birds just as easily. If the three groups: people, birds and pigs worldwide are interchangeable to this virus then things could get dicey 1 month, 6 months, 1 year or more down the line. We are in completely unknown territory with this kind of virus. I can see why all world governments and people are nervous about what is next?
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
