UN says climate change threatens world security

Climate change is generating an "unholy brew" of extreme weather events that threaten global security, the UN chief said as the Security Council recognized the issue's potential effect on world peace.
next quote from same source:
"Extreme weather events continue to grow more frequent and intense in rich and poor countries alike, not only devastating lives, but also infrastructure, institutions, and budgets -- an unholy brew which can create dangerous security vacuums," Ban told a Security Council debate on the issue.
Climate change, he said, "not only exacerbates threats to international peace and security; it is a threat to international peace and security." end quote.

All you have to do is to watch the weather Channel just here in the U.S. to see that weather is becoming a problem all over the world. It is my belief that in addition to 10 years of war, that the weather is the biggest cause of the present debt problem not only here in the U.S. but worldwide. The way people look at everything has to change. In the 1800s one of the things that drove U.S. progress was innovation and a feeling that there would always be unlimited natural resources. Those days are gone and the humans here on earth that survive all these changes in the long run will have to find a new and more efficient way to view things. Natural resources are not unlimited. A lot of things can be recycled but we have to be ever more vigilant and efficient in everything we do if we want to survive here on earth now as a species.
